IGREJA DE SÃO LOURENÇO
A church with a facade decorated with a panel of tiles representing St. Lawrence.
It is probable that the church was built in the 13th and 14th centuries. However, the last transformations that changed its appearance are much more recent: they date from the 19th century. Its façade is decorated with an azulejo panel that represents Saint Lawrence; inside, the high altar, made of gilded wood from the 17th century, is surmounted by an altarpiece that represents Saint Lawrence begging for souls. In front of the church, the São Lourenço fountain dates from the 18th century. It was designed by the Frenchman Velleré in neoclassical style.
