Strange carnival in Castelo de Vide: the inhabitants choose their ugliest clothes to dress up!
In Portuguese, trapalhão means clumsy, awkward. While carnival is always celebrated in Portugal, Castelo de Vide's carnival is a tradition in itself, as the town's inhabitants dress up with.... anything they can get their hands on: an old sweater, grandma's blouse, any rag they can find to avoid being recognized. It's a spontaneous carnival, with no organized carnival procession, and it's an opportunity to make up for lost time and draw inspiration from current events to celebrate these days when nothing is forbidden, not even bad taste..
