MARVÃO CASTLE
We stroll with delight through the ruins of this very well maintained building, built between the 13th and 17th centuries.
A perfect example of medieval military architecture, the château was built into the rock between the 13th and 17th centuries. A veritable eagle's nest at an altitude of 850 metres, it played a key role during the Spanish invasions (the border is 13 kilometers away), when it was enlarged. To the right of the main entrance, you'll see an imposing medieval cistern that is still functional. From the top of this highest point, you can appreciate its strategic importance and enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area.
