ROMAN AMMAIA RUINS
Museum hosting a permanent exhibition with a collection of ancient objects of everyday life, as well as temporary exhibitions.
This archaeological site features the beautiful Roman ruins (baths, temple, etc.) of the town of Ammaia, founded around 45 AD. Ammaia enjoyed a flourishing period thanks to its fertile valley and the agriculture that flourished there. Between the5th and 9thcenturies , however, the city was submerged by the waves and finally fell into complete ruin. The museum presents the results of excavations carried out since 1995 by a national team. There's also a permanent exhibition featuring a collection of coins, ancient everyday objects and a reconstruction of the town.
