MUSEU MUNICIPAL
This museum shelters a rather heterogeneous archaeological collection, comprising vestiges of all the times.
The Municipal Museum, housed in the all-white Santa Maria church, boasts an eclectic collection of sacred artworks, relics and objects covering the history of Marvão from pre-Roman to medieval times to the present day. Most of these have been found in the surrounding villages, notably the Roman city of Ammaia and the megalithic sites in the area. Everyday life in the Alentejo region is also represented, in the form of traditional costumes and pastoral crafts.
