SÉ (CATHEDRAL)
Cathedral with three Romanesque-Gothic portals that impresses both inside and outside in Lamego.
This is a cathedral that impresses both inside and out. The three Romanesque-Gothic portals (12th century) are of remarkable stylistic purity. Their adjoining square bell tower (12th century Romanesque) produces a surprisingly asymmetrical effect. The square of the cathedral leaves enough room to evaluate this construction. Nicolau Nasoni was responsible for the painting of the vault cradles (1738). The chapel houses an 18th-century altarpiece in marble and gilding, as well as two sumptuous organs dating from 1753.
