Street in Guimaraes, known as the Rua da Infesta for its pestilential smells, where we find the convent of Santa Clara.
This street was the first one officially created in the city to connect the convent in the lower town and the castle in the upper town. In the 12th century it was known as the Rua da infesta for its stinking odours. The convent of Santa Clara, built in the 15th century, has a Baroque façade and a two-storey cloister in classical style. Not forgetting the Casa dos Arcos, the Casa dos Peixotos and the Casa Gotica dos Valadares, other examples of architecture from this period. A must-see on a walking tour of the city.
