Temple that was originally a modest chapel of the Reconquest period in Póvoa de Varzim.
This temple was originally a modest chapel from the time of the Reconquest. Counts D. Henrique and D. Teresa had it rebuilt. The building had a different plan at the time of Alfonso I Henriques, when, in the mid 12th century, the construction of the current church began, which was not completed until a century later. It is a massive granite construction with few openings. The rose window in the upper part of the façade is particularly beautiful.
