The square is surrounded by an architectural complex of great purity, with a monument dedicated to the writer Eça de Queiros.
This square is surrounded by an architectural ensemble of great purity: the granite on the façades is complemented by azulejos and wrought iron. Renovated in 2007, you will find some of the great symbols of the city such as the Paços do Concelho, the monument dedicated to the writer Eça de Queirós (born here in 1845 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1900), the pillory of Póvoa and the old bandstand. This square is an unmistakable landmark on your visit to the city. The inhabitants pass through it throughout the day.
