SÉ DE VILA REAL OR CHURCH OF SÃO DOMINGOS
Church with a large baroque altar, built by Dominican monks from Guimaraes in Vila Real.
Built between the 15th and 18th centuries (from 1424 onwards by Dominican monks from Guimarães), this church (with a double Romanesque and Gothic influence) has a large Baroque altar, as does the Capela Nova, located two streets away. Inside this small chapel, azulejos illustrate the lives of the apostles Paul and Peter. The church of São Domingos was declared a national monument in 1926. The symphony organ, inaugurated in 2016, is one of the most modern in the country.
