MISERICORDIA CHURCH

A church not to be missed, whose interior walls are covered with tiles representing various scenes from the life of Christ.
The church of the Misericordia, which dates from the second half of the 17th century, is a masterpiece of Baroque art. From top to bottom, the interior walls are covered with azulejos depicting various scenes from the life of Christ (the Wedding of Cana, Mary Magdalene...). Surprisingly, while this decorative overload could weigh down the building, it gives an impression of elevation. A beautiful painted wooden ceiling, dating from 1742, crowns the elegance of the style.
