At number 47 on the Mutrah Corniche, a pretty little white house houses the Omani Heritage Gallery, an association under the auspices of the Ministry of Heritage. Inside, you'll find objects that are 100% made in Oman and typical of the sultanate - pottery, basketry, carpets, jewelry, clothes, etc. The aim is not so much to sell as to promote Omani culture. The aim is not so much to trade as to promote the best of Omani craftsmanship. While the prices charged are higher than elsewhere, the profits go back to the craftsmen, so you can be sure you're not buying junk.
