BAYEUX LACE CONSERVATORY
Association promoting Bayeux’s lace-making heritage, featuring lace with floral and architectural motifs
Created in 1988, this association promotes the Bayeux lacemaking heritage of the Manufacture Lefébure. Bayeux lace (bobbin lace) features floral decorations and architectural motifs drawn from classical ornamentation (pearls, gadroons, foliage, shells, basins, etc.), with an emphasis on figurative designs. The lacemakers have worked for some of France’s leading couturiers, including Balmain, Dior, and Hermès, and pass on their skills in training courses.
