JUNIOR JUNKANOO

A foretaste of the great festivities that will officially begin on December 26: all the schools, colleges and high schools of the archipelago are sending their young troops to Nassau to perpetuate the tradition of this colourful carnival. Music, dance and costumes are prepared throughout the year. Although the origins of the Junkanoo remain subject to long and passionate debate, it is generally agreed that after centuries of practice, the cultural extravaganzas of yesteryear have become the most entertaining street carnivals in the Bahamas.
