PARLIAMENT SQUARE
Small square in the historic center with a statue of Queen Victoria, a perfect illustration of British colonial style.
This small square in the historic centre is framed by the main government buildings, most of which were built in the 19th century, including Parliament and the Supreme Court. Their Creole style, their pastel pink colour (a symbolic colour which is also that of the national bird, the pink flamingo), and their columns, make them a perfect illustration of the British colonial style. A statue of Queen Victoria, quite imperial, facing the colonnaded buildings, recalls the historical ties between the Bahamas and Great Britain.
