ELBOW REEF LIGHTHOUSE
A 36 m high lighthouse with an exceptional panoramic view of the whole island, the port and the ocean.
Built in 1862, the lighthouse still operates the old-fashioned way, i.e. by hand, and would be the last in the world to run on kerosene! Its construction made it possible to secure the islands which suffered from a bad reputation linked to the presence of wreck plunderers. It is recommended to climb the 101 steps up the narrow spiral staircase that allows you to discover the bowels of the lighthouse: from the top of its 36 m, it dominates the coast and offers an exceptional panoramic view that embraces the whole island, the port and as far as the ocean.
