HATCHET BAY CAVES
The largest underground cave system in the Caribbean, used as a pirate hideout, with graffiti dating back to the century.
It is one of the largest underground cave systems in the Caribbean. Its length is reminiscent of a vaulted cathedral. A ladder leads down into the heart of the cave. Count about an hour of visit, to see some bats and many other underground surprises. A must for nature lovers and budding speleologists. It is said that it was used as a hiding place for pirates. Inside, graffiti dating back to the 19th century has been found. Stalagmites and stalactites decorate the floor and vault of the caves
