This race is the second largest after the national regatta at the Exumas, and it is also Long Island's main source of fundraising. Some of the 50 participating sloops are built at Mangrove Bush. This event also marks the reunion of families. On the shore, the crowd celebrates with lively activities, children's games, fish and sheep cooking demonstrations, and local "rake n' scrape" music concerts.
