CHURCH OF THE HOLY REDEEMER
A pretty Moorish-inspired church from Europe, featuring a fresco painted by the villagers during Father Jérôme's lifetime.
This beautiful church is also the work of Father Jerome who, upon his arrival on Cat Island, began its construction, even before the construction of the famous Hermitage. This small church has many details reflecting the Moorish inspiration that came from Europe in the satchel of this admirable British monk-architect who was appreciated in the Bahamas. The fresco that adorns the entrance of the church was painted by the villagers during Father Jerome's lifetime, which explains its deteriorated condition.
