It is the highest place in the Great Wall, above 800 m above sea level. A portion of the walls many times renovated, to such a point that it would sometimes be thought to be built again! The last retouching dates back to 1957. A cable car, built in 1990, makes it possible to reach the summit. To take advantage of the visit at length, it is advisable to organize its visit independently. If this stretch of wall is closest to Beijing, it is certainly not the most interesting. Too many tourists in a framework too nine and lack authenticity!

Le tronçon de la Grande Muraille situé à Badaling est assez long et bien conservé. Il y a des parties un peu physiques, avec un bon dénivelé mais la vue est incroyable. En marchant, on peut assez rapidement s'éloigner de la foule. Il faut par contre bien réserver son billet à l'avance sous peine de ne pas pouvoir entrer car un nombre limité de personnes peuvent accéder au site chaque jour. On y accède assez facilement depuis Pékin, via un bus et une agence de voyage ou en métro puis train mais il y a du monde.

Site très touristique, mais plus on grimpe plus on se sent seuls au monde. Ce n'est pas le plus bel endroit de la grande muraille, mais c'est à faire !

Le site de Badaling offre 2 ascensions, l'une a gauche très pentu et avec beaucoup moins de monde que sur la montée de droite, plus simple, mais largement trop embouteillé.
Magnifique paysages d'un coté comme de l'autre.

Site émouvant surtout au printemps avec la floraison des arbres. En accédant au côté sud, moins achalandé, vous aurez une vue magnifique sur le côté nord, plus escarpé.
