CATHEDRAL
N'Djamena is very proud of its cathedral, perched in the middle of the city and standing 55 metres tall, taunting the minarets of the mosque. Built in the colonial period and renovated between 2013 and 2023, the sober, modern style of the building is of little interest. At the cathedral, Sunday mass is at 10 a.m. and is quite solemn. If you'd prefer to share mass with the local sheep, head for the Kabalaye church, where services are held on Sunday mornings, with plenty of good-humored singing accompanied by flutes and djembes.
