This small lake, located to the west of the town on the way to Bol, makes an ideal camp or picnic spot. Sheltered at the foot of one of Kanem's famous dead dunes, surrounded by reeds, it is frequently visited by herds of oxen who come to quench their thirst. It is an essential source of water for the inhabitants of the surrounding villages, as well as for the animals that live in the region. It is mainly used to irrigate crops during the dry season, and its water is sometimes used to water livestock.
