BAJOV MUSEUM
It is dedicated to Pavel Petrovich Bajov (1879-1950), whose biography is very interesting to understand how this industrial region became subject to prose. Born in a family of minors and graduated from the Technological Institute of Perm, Bajov is first professor in Yekaterinburg. During the Second World War, he began to write stories about plants in the Urals. His best known book is La Box de Malachite (1939). Bajov is based on the corpus of forgotten tales of the Urals, recreating the legends of the miners and researchers of the region. His stories incorporate the intrigues and the language of these legends and blend fantasy and reality. One of his stories led to the creation of a ballet, on a music of Prokofiev, Le Conte de la fleurs de stone.
