From 1879 to 1917, this building housed the so-called real Alexandrovskaïa school, founded and directed for several years by the historian, archaeologist and Ethnographer Ethnographer. Slovtsov exhibited in his school collections relating to natural history and archaeology gathered during his travels and expeditions. These are the same collections that formed the basis of the ethnographic museum in Tioumen, opened in 1922 in the building of the former municipal council.
In 1920, the School hosted the Technical College of Agriculture, which became the City's Agricultural Institute in 1959. More than professors teach agriculture, zoology, economics and mechanization of agriculture. The Institute has a holding for testing as well as a farm farm where students conduct internships. Next to the Institute is the main building of the University of Tioumen.
