TELETSKOY LAKE

This huge lake (75 km long and 5 km wide) is the best known in the region. In fact, it is called the Baikal of Altai. It is one of the 25 deepest lakes in the world (325 m). The scenery here is fantastic. The main village is Artybash (4 hours by bus from Gorno-Altaiysk). A few hotels. Main attractions: cruises and lazing around on the pebble beaches. Ask the locals: they will probably show you their best wild spots.
