The most mysterious archaeological site in the region and probably of world value. The kurgans are burial mounds of the Tagare civilization. This one (4th century BC) was erected on a hill decorated with monolithic stelae. The character had to be of the utmost importance in view of the number and size of the stones used (22 to 27 m). Devonian sandstone (50 to 70 tons) which could only be extracted at least 100 km from the site, and whose transport remains a mystery!
