PERMAFROST MUSEUM
Natural history – Science

An unexpected, extraordinary museum hidden in a banal isba. The main attraction: a gallery dug 8 m underground in the permafrost (polar temperature, predict the thickness), a natural freezer and a former scientific laboratory (with larch trees over 40,000 years old caught in the ice). Hundreds of testimonies, drawings, photos and objects from the Gulag (site 503) are gathered there. Nail of the visit: a real mammoth with its tusks.
