SHAMANKA MOUNTAIN
Go there and contact
What you have imagined and seen on the Internet from the island of Olkhon will reveal itself here. According to the Buryates, the Shamanka Mountain is one of the most sacred places not only on the island but also in Asia. It shelters the spirit of Khan Khute-baabay, one of the 13 sons of Tengris sent to Earth to judge Mankind. It is also a high place of Buddhist pilgrimage. This low-lying geological façade separates Khujir from Lake Baikal. It forms two inlets in the Maloye Sea. You can climb it on foot in a few minutes. You discover the famous Cape Burkhan, recognizable by its 13 serge covered with offerings, among others these blue or colored ribbons beaten by the winds. The postcard is breathtaking: dizzying peaks towards the big blue, Primorski mountain range with snowy peaks in the distance. The place, very popular with tourists, is also very popular with the believers who come to worship there. Continuing to the left, you discover the Chamane rock and its small creek (swimming in turquoise water from June to September). By choosing to go to the right, you admire and access the immense and magnificent Saraïski beach. On a clear day, the sunset is sublime: the atmosphere is full of roses and mysteries ... Think that you will never be alone on this panoramic platform, unless you get up at dawn, the only way to magnify your experience. A ledge path leads to the port of Khoujir.
