The trail starts about 3 km from the centre (accessible by car) at the end of Naberezhnaya Street. From there, you will have to reach the Khamar-Daban weather station (about 13 km away) to set up a base camp. From here you can go on several hikes: Heart Lake (named after its shape), Chertovy Pass, Podkommarnaya Waterfalls. The summit of Chersky Peak is 4 km away (about 2 hours) and can be reached via a path paved with rhododendrons and other fragrant plants. At the top, there is a splendid view of Khamar-Daban and Lake Baikal.
