The designers who exhibit here share a passion for craftsmanship, are environmentally conscious and fascinated by the beauty of the old. They come together around the principle of upcycling, i.e. the repurposing of existing materials to give them a second life. In addition to the permanent designers, Berthel also welcomes three guest artisans each month, whose creations are handmade in Strasbourg or the surrounding area. Upcycling is not necessarily at the heart of their concept, but Berthel is keen to promote craftsmanship in a more global sense.
