He has been criss-crossing the Bas-Rhin for more than thirty years, tracking oxidized strings, depressed keys, worn-out felts, seized-up pegs and false notes on out of tune pianos. Pierre Bertaut does his job with passion, not counting his time to give back to the piano its initial sonorities. A tuner-repairer in the rules of the art, his reputation is acquired with institutions such as the Opera (whose instruments he has been maintaining for about twenty years) and the TNS in Strasbourg.
