SAAMS was founded in 1832 and has been going strong ever since. It offers its members the chance to discover heritage and the arts through conferences, exhibitions, guided tours and cultural trips. It also actively supports the city's museums through donations, purchases and deposits of objects. Last but not least, it encourages new creators and young talents in Strasbourg by awarding the famous Prix Théophile Schuler every year.
