Banque de l'Objet is an alternative to the destruction of unsold items once they've been sold off or passed on to sale outlets. It is a Strasbourg-based association supported by the département, and lives off donations from private individuals and professionals. Over 70,000 items have been saved from destruction and distributed in 4 years. Partner associations are able to provide the most disadvantaged with everything they need, from clothing to kitchen utensils and school supplies. It's a virtuous circle, and an initiative that's good for the planet!
