The first of the Protestant parish churches in Strasbourg which was rebuilt in the century in the neo-Romanesque style.

The Temple Neuf is the first of the Protestant parish churches in Strasbourg. In 1870, the church and the library were burnt down during the bombing of Strasbourg. All in Vosges sandstone, the temple was rebuilt in the 19th century in the neo-Romanesque style. Inside, the great organ built by Joseph Mercklin belongs to the Parisian symphonic aesthetics of the end of the 19th century and, like an orchestra, multiplies the sounds. At the back is the funeral slab of Jean Tauler, a famous Alsatian preacher. The new layout of the Café Respire invites you to rest and exchange in the heart of the temple. Punctual exhibitions animate the place in all seasons.
