ST. PAUL'S CHURCH
Strasbourg's tallest CHURCH, at 76 m high, in the Rhenish neo-Gothic style, with original stained glass windows
St. Paul's Church is in the Rhenish neo-Gothic style, inspired by the 13th-century Church of St. Elisabeth in Marburg, Hesse, and dates from 1897. Located on the imperial axis between Place de la République and Place de l'Université, it was built during the Germanic annexation by architect Louis Muller. At 76 meters high, Saint-Paul is one of Strasbourg's tallest churches. The original stained-glass windows depict allegories of the Empire, as well as the coats of arms of its constituent regions, and its large 8-meter-diameter rose window.
