PEACE SYNAGOGUE
A contemporary-style concrete synagogue with an exterior facade covered with numerous Stars of David.
The Synagogue de la Paix was inaugurated on March 23, 1958, replacing the former place of worship on Quai Kléber, destroyed by the Nazis in 1941. Designed by architect Claude Meyer-Lévy according to a basilica plan, the concrete synagogue is contemporary in style. The front exterior façade is studded with numerous Stars of David. The vault of the main nave is supported by twelve concrete columns, representing the twelve tribes of Israel. Today, the Community Center houses two schools, Radio Judaïca and several associations. Don't hesitate to visit it.
