Strasbourg's oldest museum, with photographic plates, wooden crystallographic models and maps.
The Musée de Minéralogie may only consist of two rooms, but it is not only one of Strasbourg's oldest museums, but also one of the best endowed with minerals in France, second only to Paris, with almost 30,000 samples. Founded in 1890, it comprises almost 7,500 objects: 3,936 photographic plates, 2,773 wooden crystallographic models, 582 scrolling cards, 150 scientific instruments... The curator, Denis Leypold, is happy to lead tours and answer any questions you may have.
