HISTORICAL MUSEUM
Museum tracing Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions
Housed in a former butcher's shop dating from 1587, the Historical Museum traces Strasbourg's urban history from the Middle Ages to the creation of European institutions. Its 1,700m2 of exhibits include works of art, figurines, flags, models and much more. The museum offers both chronological and thematic tours: from the Holy Roman Empire to the Reformation, via the royal and revolutionary periods. The highlight of the visit is a 70m2 relief map dating from 1727, which reproduces the town and its surroundings at 1:600 scale.
