Museum of Fine Arts exhibiting European painting from the end of the Middle Ages to 1870, on the floor of the magnificent Palais Rohan.

The Musée des Beaux-Arts invites you to discover pictorial art in Europe from the late Middle Ages to 1870. Each historical period is color-coded for easy identification. The most famous names rub shoulders: Botticelli, Raphael, Rubens and Goya. Don't miss Largillière's La Belle Strasbourgeoise, undoubtedly one of our most popular works. Please note: on the first Saturday of every month, the museum's storerooms are open to the public.

Музей для любителів старовинних картин і скульптур. Виставлені дійсно гарні твори багатьох відомих майстрів, від 13 до середини 19 століття. Експозиція знаходиться на одному поверсі палацу Роган. В тому ж палаці є ще два музеї, і для їхнього відвідування можна придбати комбінований квиток. Але сприйняти 3 музеї за один день - то не для всіх. Сам музей можна пройти за 1.5-2 години.
При плануванні варто враховувати, що музей закривається на обідню перерву з 13 до 14 години.

Heureusement c'était gratuit le premier dimanche du mois, mais il aurait été décevant de payer pour cet étage au vu de la taille de la collection... Le musée contemporain est bien plus fourni

Visited the museum for free on the first Sunday of the month. It takes around 2 hours to see the paintings. Reminds me all the classic museums of fine arts so there is nothing special. But I recommend to visit the museum if you stay here for a long time.
