NOTRE-DAME-DE-L'ASSOMPTION CHAPEL
Chapel with frescoes painted on the cement walls and a nave with panels recalling the life of the Virgin Mary
Chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, built in 1954 by the painter Jean-Denis Maillart and Canon Duvieu. Its major asset: its frescoes painted on the cement walls between 1960 and 1962. Inspired by the symbolism of cathedrals, those in the choir evoke the Old and New Testament through a series of patriarchs, prophets and the twelve apostles. The panels in the nave evoke the main stages in the life of the Virgin Mary.
