Pride of the city, this museum with its rich collections was founded in 1891, on the initiative of political deportees. Today, its collections include nearly 140,000 pieces of exceptional interest. You will learn all about the Sakha fauna (prehistoric and present day), the history of the country and the local habitat. The museum also exhibits a traditional yurt, with all the utensils and objects of daily life. The museum building is classified as a historical monument.
