GEYSER VALLEY
Go there and contact
A very rare natural phenomenon, geysers meet in North America, Iceland, New Zealand and are characterized by a source of groundwater that goes back to high pressure and high temperature in the form of water or steam jets following contact with hot magmatic rocks. The term geyser means "springing up". The famous Geysers Valley of Kamchatka Peninsula has 22 active and extinct. Their names, funny, were attributed to them according to their respective colour (Rose, Green Malachite, Pearl), their type of activity or their power (Giant, Grand, Petit). Some geysers occur every 10-12 minutes, while others are active only once every few hours.
The first geyser was discovered in April 1941 by the scientists Tatiana Oustinova and Anissifor Kropénine, who gave him the name "pervénets", "newborn" in Russian. In the summer of that same year, they returned to the plateau and settled their camp to study these wonders better. In the valley, there are not only rushing or delicate sources but also mud ponds, waterfalls and streams.
To access this exceptional location, it is inevitable to go to a travel agency that takes you there by helicopter, often combined with that of the Ouzon volcano. The day excursion has 3 hours of flight (go and return) by helicopter and a hike from 5 to 6 hours.
