Assumption Catholic church with its current neo-Gothic structure.
From Freedom Square, if you go down and take the second street on the right, namely Abesadzé Street, renamed "French Quarter", you will come across the Catholic Church of the Assumption. This is one of the two Catholic churches in Tbilisi. In 1240, Dominican monks founded a monastery there. In 1328, the site became the bishopric of Tbilisi and remained so until 1630. The present structure of the building dates from 1884 and is neo-Gothic in style.
