This charming little palace overlooking Tbilisi belonged to Queen Darédjane, wife of King Irakli.
Another monument on Metekhi Rock rises above the Riké esplanade, used for official celebrations and festival concerts. This is the palace of Queen Darédjane, wife of King Irakli II. It was built in 1784, and the queen also had the small Church of the Transfiguration (Peritsvaléba) built next door. The building was severely damaged by the Persians in 1795, but has since been restored. It's a charming spot overlooking Tbilisi. The small palace is not open to the public, but can be seen from the church.
