From Liberty Square (Tavisuplebis Moedani), Baratashvili Street winds its way down towards the eponymous bridge, skirting the old city walls. These, like the balconies, have recently been renovated. This busy thoroughfare stands in stark contrast to the old town stretching behind the walls. Kote Abkhazi (Lesélidzé Street) leaves Place de la Liberté to join Meidan.
