Markets – Covered markets

The story goes that the bazaar got its name from the army deserters who came here to get rid of their equipment and weapons in the early 1920s. A visit here will give you a full taste (as well as the sweets in your exploration) of a slice of Georgian life. Nothing but colors! The market is a discovery in itself: you'll find everything here, from spices in shades of gray to trinkets, everything that can be eaten or not. The market stretches around the railway station. A must-see off the beaten tourist track.
