A fortress with a structure dating from the and centuries, and a lovely walk from the village below.
On the first foothills of the Lesser Caucasus, dominating the plain of Kvémo Kartlie, the site, charming, deserves an excursion. Originally built in the 11th century, this fortress was a defensive position of Tbilisi. Nowadays, it has a structure dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. In February 1921, it was the centre of fierce fighting between the Red Army and the Georgian army. This site can be the subject of a beautiful walk (1h) from the village below.
