The Kutaisi bridges are famous throughout the region. The Djatchvis Khidi (chain bridge), which crosses at the foot of Bagrati, is at the site of the oldest bridge in Kutaisi. In its chain structure, it was built in 1866. The present bridge was rebuilt in 1995. The Tsitélis Khidi, the Red Bridge, the furthest downstream, dates from 1868 and was partially built in Paris. It got its statue of a man with a hat during the rehabilitation of this part of the old city. The Roustavéli Bridge dates from 1963. Finally, the Tétri Khidi, the White Bridge, dates from 1872.
