Several day trains and a modern night train in both directions to Tbilisi-Batumi (5-hour journey). On the outward journey, a night train can be a good way to save one night in Batumi. Trains stop at the new Batoumi station (opened in 2015), which is a little less out of the way than its predecessor. Coastal marchroutkas and buses constantly connect the station to Batoumi (5 to 10 min). In summer, buy your ticket at least two days in advance.
