The Church of the Holy Trinity, better known as "Sameba", is about 8 km from Batoumi. Minibuses leave from nearby Tbilisi Square at 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 5:30pm and 7:30pm, but the easiest way is to take a cab or Bolt to the church (approx. 10 GEL). The view of Batoumi from the church is spectacular. Sameba was built in the second half of the 19th century, but was destroyed by fire in 1979, and the current building was constructed in 2002. Before visiting the church, cover your legs and shoulders.
